Ive just recently taken out a subscription to this product and I have to say Im very impressed. I was looking for something to help improve my listening comprehension and abilty to speak the language in a variety of contexts and Acquerello really fits the bill. The audio element on the cassette is done to a very high quality with a good variety of voices, both male and female, and regional accents. And the transcription and notes in the accompanying booklet are meticulously executed and entertaining at the same time. The material seems pertinent to all learners of Italian (although as the spoken Italian is at normal speaking speed I dont think it would be appropriate for beginners), be they learning in a structured academic framework or for their own professional or leisure objectives. Another important reason why I like it is that if you want to know about the latest current affairs as they affect Italy, social and political developments of recent date, the hottest cultural trends, or even what’s in the pop charts in Italy, Acquerello appears to have it covered. Acquerello comes out once every two months which seems a long time to wait for the next fix. On the other hand there is a lot of material to get to grips with so the programme should keep you occupied for quite some time.
