I get the aw every week, i sit down to read it every wednesday night. It shows me by reading the results how many other athletes that i know are getting on. I look at the whats on section to find out if i can do open races etc. I think that the uk rankings are a good idea as you can look and see roughly where you are placed. I have been in these rankings before, and i was very suprised to see how good i actually was at that time for my age.

As a young athlete I tend to look for me and my friends in the results pages. I read aw every Wednesday to see if any of us are there and I find it easy to look for. I also tend to compare myself with other athletes looking at their distance and time at every opportunity. I find only one problem with aw and that is that when I look in the magazine I find there are people better than me!
